A few more key locations in the Klang Valley have been closed following reports of Covid-19 cases.
Just hours ago, The Star reported that the Petaling Jaya Old Town market will be shut down for 5 days starting today (Monday, 27th April). This was confirmed by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
A trader from the 46-year-old market (which houses a food court and wet market selling fresh produce) had tested positive for Covid-19 last Saturday (25th April). Petaling district disaster management committee chairperson Johary Abdul stated that all other traders have been advised to undergo screening tests.
Likewise, Pasar Taman Megah SS24 has also been sealed off for disinfection. “We will inform those who had gone to the market whether there is a need to undergo a Covid-19 test or to self-quarantine,” said MBPJ Zone Six councillor, Sakinah Bibi Nagoor. She added that the trader (who’s in his mid-40s) lives in Sungai Buloh.
In addition, the RHB Bank Simpang Tiga Branch in Kuching will also remain close until the end of the movement control order (MCO) period. RHB Banking Group confirmed that an employee from the aforementioned outlet had tested positive for Covid-19.
