Top South Korean actors Ha Jung Woo and Yeo Jin Goo are taking their careers to new heights with the upcoming South Korean action thriller, “Hijack 1971 (하이재킹)”. If you love fast-paced disaster films set on planes, you won’t want to miss out on this highly-anticipated flick!

“Hijack 1971” is based on a true event, a real-life incident where a hijacker boldly took control of a plane bound for a South Korean airport and demanded the pilot fly the plane towards North Korea. Renowned actor Ha Jung Woo (하정우) stars as TaeIn, the hijacked plane’s first officer, Tae-in, based on the real-life pilot, Park WanGyu. Co-starring is actor Yeo JinGoo (여진구), who plays YongDae, a hijacker based on Kim SangTae, the real-life hijacker from the 1971 case. Sung Dong-il (성동일) and Chae Soobin (채수빈) also star in this thrilling movie.

The synopsis reads:

Winter of 1971, Sokcho Airport. Pilots TaeIn and GyuSik are set to fly to Gimpo. Under the guidance of flight attendant OkSoon, passengers are busy boarding. However, shortly after takeoff, a homemade bomb explodes, turning the cabin into chaos. “From now on, this plane is going to North Korea.” YongDae, who intends to hijack the entire plane, takes control of the cockpit and threatens the pilots to change course. Due to the explosion, GyuSik loses sight in one eye, and in the chaotic cabin, TaeIn faces a life-or-death situation. They begin a desperate struggle to safely land the aircraft. The airplane hijacking incident over South Korea. Everyone on this flight is putting their lives on the line!
