If you’re a manhwa fan, chances are you’ve read—or at least come across—the hugely popular webtoon series “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” by a Korean author duo writing under the pen name singNsong. The web novel is divided into 5 volumes, each containing a number of episodes, along with a 5-part epilogue.
Now, get ready to relive that experience by watching the live adaptation film “Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy” (전지적 독자 시점) starring Ahn Hyo-seop, Lee Min-ho, Chae Soo-bin, Shin Seung-ho, Nana, and BLACKPINK Jisoo. Film Synopsis
“The apocalyptic world once depicted in a novel has become reality, and only I know how the story ends!”. Kim Dok-ja (Ahn Hyo-seop), an ordinary man in his 20s, is the sole reader of an obscure web novel titled Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse. Having followed the story since his school days, he finally reaches its conclusion after 10 years of serialisation. Disappointed by the ending, Kim sends a scathing letter to the author, calling it “the worst novel”.
But after sending the letter, the fictional world suddenly becomes real, and the novel’s omnipotent hero, Yu Jung-hyeok (Lee Min-ho), appears before him. As the only person who knows the plot and how to survive, Kim joins forces with his companions to rescue Yu Jung-hyeok and rewrite the ending in order to save the world.
