What better way to start November than by seeing your favourite K-pop stars all in one night? The Watsons KFINITY Music Festival took place over the weekend at the IOI Mall Damansara Exhibition and Convention Centre, and it was certainly a night to remember.
THAMA, SOLE, iKON’s JU-NE, BIGBANG’s TAEYANG, YUJU, and 2NE1’s MINZY all took to the stage to give fans a taste of what they can expect from their upcoming solo and group concerts. We had the opportunity to catch these acts live on 1st November (Saturday), so here are some of our favourite moments from the show:
THAMA
Let’s start with the artist who opened the show. THAMA took to the stage to kick off the festival with “Real Thing”, “HEY”, and “Do It For Love”. One of the highlights of his set came when he pulled out a piece of paper and began speaking Malay to the audience. The singer revealed that it was his first time in Malaysia and that he was thrilled to be here.
Not only that, but the KFINITY Music Festival also marked his first overseas performance. “Ini pertama kali saya buat show di luar negara. Saya rasa sangat berbesar hati,” he told his fans. This clearly meant a great deal to the artist — and to his fans, who had been eagerly waiting to see him perform live.
As a gesture of gratitude, THAMA debuted his new song “Be Mine” (out 4th November), serenading fans with every note. He closed his set with “I Feel Love”, and love was certainly felt all around the room, as couples embraced during the number before THAMA made his exit.
SOLE

It was then SOLE’s turn to take the stage. She opened her set with “1minute” and “GONE”, and just like the act before her, she had also prepared a short speech in Malay. “Ini kali pertama saya di Malaysia dan saya sangat gembira dapat jumpa anda semua malam ini!” she said enthusiastically.
The singer continued her performance with “shy girl”, “LOVIN’ U”, and “ore ore” before taking a moment to sign a few albums for fans in the audience. Speaking of which, she stepped down from the stage to interact with the crowd while performing “Stay With Me” — a song dedicated to her fans for their overwhelming support over the years. After closing her set with “RIDE”, SOLE invited THAMA back on stage to take a photo with her and the audience.
JU-NE
@era.je Okay oppa Ju-ne @juneeeeeeya dah start perform kat @watsonsmy Kfinity 💚 #ERARadioNo1PalingLegit
The energy truly began to build when iKON member JU-NE walked on stage, grabbed his guitar, and launched into his set with “Feel Lost”, “So Cold”, and “Want You Back”. The idol expressed how happy he was to return to Malaysia and perform for fans. He expressed his gratitude to the audience before continuing his set with “Painful”, “Hope” and “Han River”.
His solo songs are certainly a departure from iKON’s music, with a stronger rock influence that brought a different kind of energy to the K-pop festival. Nevertheless, fans enjoyed every track, singing along and cheering with excitement. If their screams weren’t enough, our ears were certainly ringing when JU-NE performed one of iKON’s iconic songs, “Love Scenario”, before closing his set with another hit from the group’s discography, “Rhythm Ta”.

TAEYANG

After a short break for Maghrib prayers, the man of the hour finally arrived. BIGBANG’s Taeyang opened his set with “1AM” in a truly celebratory fashion, complete with confetti and a live band, as if he were closing the show rather than starting it. He certainly kept his promise of returning to Malaysia to give fans another unforgettable performance.
Throughout his set, the idol displayed boundless energy, with strong stage presence and intense choreography that had the crowd cheering at his every move. One of the highlights of the night came when the singer announced that he is currently working on new music, and once again promised to include Malaysia as a stop on his upcoming tour.
TAEYANG treated fans to many of his iconic hits, including “RINGA LINGA”, “VIBE”, and “EYES, NOSE, LIPS”, with the audience singing along to every word of the last track at the top of their lungs. If fans didn’t manage to catch the artist live during his concert last year, they can consider his KFINITY set as a preview of what they can expect when he returns to Malaysia for another solo concert.
@era.je Ringa Linga!! 😍 Charisma A+ laaa #ERARadioNo1PalingLegit
YUJU
@era.je Budddy Malaysia komen jap😍 Sapa tahu lagu ni korang memang power!! OST drama yang popular!! #ERARadioNo1PalingLegit
When it was announced that YUJU would be part of the KFINITY Music Festival, fans were overjoyed and couldn’t wait to see GFRIEND’s main vocalist perform live on stage. She quickly proved why she earned that title, opening her set with “Spring Is Gone by Chance”, a duet she originally performed with rapper Loco.
The singer also treated fans to some of her newer tracks, including “REPLY” and “ORION” from her latest album, “In Bloom”. YUJU expressed her gratitude to fans for their love and support, even signing a few albums for them while on stage. Although her set was relatively short, it gave fans something to look forward to should she return — and a reason to hope for a future solo concert in Kuala Lumpur.
Before making her exit, YUJU closed her set with “DALALA” and “SEE YOU SOON”. Perhaps the final song was a hint, or even a promise, that she’ll keep Malaysia in mind if she ever plans a solo tour in the future. Here’s to hoping!

MINZY
As the night drew to a close, who better to end the show than 2NE1’s MINZY? As soon as the idol hit the stage, opening her performance with “NINANO” and “TE AMO”, screams echoed from every corner of the room. The group’s maknae proved that even without her members, she could command the stage with her presence, demanding that all eyes be on her.
The singer showcased incredible energy and breath control as she powered through the dance break, singing her heart out almost effortlessly, a reminder to everyone that she’s a K-pop icon in her own right. One of the highlights of the night came when MINZY interacted with the audience, expressing her hope to return to Kuala Lumpur with her fellow members in the future — something fans would no doubt be eager to see.

She then continued with “Superwoman”, a female empowerment anthem, before performing her rendition of 2NE1’s “I DON’T CARE”, which had everyone singing along. Of course, the show wouldn’t have been complete without the idol performing some of the group’s other iconic hits. The entire venue erupted in cheers and jumped with excitement in the first few seconds of “I AM THE BEST”.
By the time the song ended, our feet were definitely aching, but we powered through for one final track. MINZY closed the show with “GO AWAY”, another of 2NE1’s iconic hits. Overall, we consider the very first KFINITY Music Festival a success with room for improvement. We hope that this will become an annual event where we get to see even more K-pop stars sharing the stage for an unforgettable evening.
