In celebration of his vast acting journey for the past 20 years, South Korean actor Lee Je Hoon held the Malaysian leg of his ‘[Our 20th Moment]’ fanmeet tour at Zepp Kuala Lumpur last Saturday. Despite the gloomy weather that evening, the fans’ a.k.a Hoonists’ enthusiasm did not diminish one bit and the fanmeet was constantly filled with plenty of excited cheers for the charismatic actor.
To fans’ surprise, Je Hoon – dressed head to toe in white and looking dashing – opened the fanmeet by entering through the main door, serenading his fans sweetly with his cover of Paul Kim’s “Coffee With Me” while greeting them up close. He then introduced himself as “Abang Teksi” (taxi man) due to his hit crime thriller series “Taxi Driver”.
Throughout the fanmeet, the 42-year-old actor shared his love for Malaysian dishes like nasi lemak, and what his egg preferences are (read: scrambled eggs). When prompted by the host, he proceeded to showcase his different personas from “Taxi Driver”’s Wang Tao Zi to “Move To Heaven”‘s Cho Sang-gu before smoothly transitioning into the bright smile and laughter of Lee Je Hoon.
Je Hoon then interacted with fans through a variety of well-thought-out questions which revealed more of his personality and preferences, played an exciting interactive game, taking on dance requests, and even performed a cute aegyo moment. His fan service was truly on another level and it was evident that he showcased his appreciation to Hoonists by looking into their eyes, playfully flirting with them, and reacting reciprocally with cute finger hearts, cute pouts, and flying kisses.
The fanmeet ended with Hoonists surprising him with a heartfelt fan video highlighting his journey, along with messages of love and support, as well as a special cake. He expressed his gratitude, sharing that he is able to live his life as an actor because of his fans. Before bidding his final goodbye, he did a special performance of Crush’s “Beautiful”.
Talents aside, Je Hoon is basically that adorable guy from next door, where his down-to-earth personality shines when you take into account how approachable and thoughtful he is. Right from the start, he constantly engaged the audience, and was more than happy to share bits and pieces of his everyday life.
Be sure to catch his latest series “Taxi Driver 3”, currently available for streaming on Viki.
