Concert Review: Indonesian Band Efek Rumah Kaca Slayed KL With A Magical Show

Last Friday, Indonesian band Efek Rumah Kaca enchanted Kuala Lumpur with a highly-anticipated concert that drew fans eager to experience their captivating melodies. The night kicked off at 8pm with the band Bayangan – a delightful surprise as the opening act. I’d heard about them before, but this was my first time seeing them live, and they truly left a remarkable first impression! By the end of their set, I was already planning to explore their music further. I was so engrossed in their vibe that I briefly wondered if I was at a Bayangan showcase rather than waiting for Efek Rumah Kaca.

After Bayangan wrapped up, the energy at the venue skyrocketed as the stage was prepped for Efek Rumah Kaca. The anticipation was palpable, and when they finally took the stage, the crowd erupted into a wave of cheers. They started strong, captivating everyone with each song, and it was incredible to witness the audience engaging fully—singing along and swaying to every note. Zepp KL’s acoustics were impeccable, allowing each song to resonate beautifully.

Efek Rumah Kaca did an outstanding job curating their setlist, keeping the crowd grooving from the very beginning. The concert flowed smoothly, with Bayangan establishing the mood and Bob from Rakita keeping it up during the interval. I really appreciated this because I hate concerts or gigs that leave the audience behind while the team is prepping or during intermission. Bob’s presence and his easygoing charm kept the momentum alive, making the wait feel enjoyable. The lighting also enhanced the experience, transforming the concert into an immersive event.

Despite it being a Friday night, people turned out in full force. The mellow yet powerful vibe of Efek Rumah Kaca was perfect for unwinding after a long workday—not too loud, but just right for vibing together. We weren’t just spectators; we were part of the celebration, dancing and singing along. The concert concluded with “Cinta Melulu,” which felt like the perfect finale to an unforgettable night.

From the opening act to the final note, the “Efek Rumah Kaca Concert Di Udara Kuala Lumpur” was truly one for the books. I left with a newfound appreciation for Bayangan and an even stronger love for Efek Rumah Kaca’s music. Honestly, I can’t wait for their next show!
