CMCO Is Not Stopping Those In Klang From Climbing Over Barricades

The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) was set in Klang just a few days ago on 9th October (Friday). However, after finally having a taste of freedom without movement restrictions these past few months, it seems that those under CMCO again are finding it hard to adapt to the reimposed regulations.

While there are roadblocks and barriers set up through Klang and Shah Alam to restrict movement in these red zones, many have been disregarding these protocols. Images obtained by Sin Chew Daily show that those who are currently under the CMCO are obliviously climbing over the yellow barricades to buy, deliver and even trade goods.

These restrictions and barricades were imposed to limit the spread of Covid-19 cases as the pandemic is currently getting from bad to worse in Malaysia. However, as it is clearly evident, not all citizens are adhering to these regulations. From going shopping to passing packages over the barriers, the regulations are being disregarded and it is not a good sign.

According to Bernama, ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli stated that those who do not comply with the CMCO’s standard operating procedure (SOP) will be issued compound fines. Furthermore, ACP Ramli also stated that two additional roadblocks have been set up at Taman Sentosa (road to Perdana Villa) and Jalan Sungai Udang, Kampung Delek.

Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya will also soon be placed under the CMCO, from 14th to 27th October. Let’s hope that all citizens from these areas will abide by the regulations stated clearly under the CMCO guidelines in order to curb the spread of Covid -19.

The obstruction of efforts taken by the government and the authorities in order to curb the spread of this deadly virus could have dire consequences. It is our responsibility to protect both ourselves and the people of this nation.
