Christine’s Bakery: Our Favourite Bagels At Sunway Geo Avenue

Hand-rolled bagels that go straight to your heart are the only type of bagels Christine’s Bakery is serving us! Located at Sunway Geo Avenue, this homely bakery offers an array of freshly baked pastries, hand-rolled bagels, freshly brewed coffees, deliciously moist cakes and creamy desserts.

As Christine’s Bakery is adored by many for its hand-rolled bagels, we recently dropped by their outlet to indulge in these delicious rolls-with-a-hole. If you’re in the mood for a savoury baked good – with a sweet dessert to follow – we suggest you head on over to Christine’s Bakery and bag these bagels:

1. Winner (with Seeded Bagel)

  • RM24.80

As it seemed quite appropriate, first up we’ll start off with the chicken bagel – Winner. This seeded bagel comes with spicy and crispy chicken accompanied with guacamole, cheddar cheese, pickled carrot and daikon, mango, roasted tomato as well as garden greens.

The spicy chicken was deliciously crispy on the outside and juicy and succulent on the inside. The mango was an unusual touch, and at first we were wondering if this was going to be another pineapple on pizza situation? However, the fruit and veggies came together seamlessly to create an excitingly new flavour.

While we felt all of Christine’s Bakery bagels were winners, this one had the name dedicated to it and we approve!

2. Truffle Unagi (with Original Bagel)

  • RM32.80

This was a personal favourite as the truffle-infused Japanese unagi kabayaki, cucumber, cream cheese and omelette melted in our mouths and also melted our hearts. For this dish, we tried the classic original bagel and it was classically yummy.

The unagi kabayaki was infused with truffle, and this ensured that you could taste the exquisite truffle flavour with every bite. The unagi kabayaki was also coated with cream cheese and all we can say is that it was just magic. The small pieces of cut cucumber that were scattered within the bagel brought a refreshing taste to all the rich flavours. This unique bagel is definitely a must-try!

3. Kofta Kebab (with Homemade Croissant)

Christine's Bakery

  • RM26.80

Taking a recipe which originated in Europe and then fusing it with a kofta recipe that comes from Asia, was a match made in heaven. As you can opt for any type of bread, croissant or bagel with these dishes, we decided to pair a choice of lamb with a freshly baked croissant. The croissant was filled with a Moroccan lamb kebab, mozzarella cheese, hash brown, roasted tomato, fresh yoghurt and lemon juice.

The richness of the lamb kebab, hash brown and mozzarella cheese were nicely complimented with a light and fresh yoghurt dressing to delight your taste buds. The roasted tomato brought in an extra smoky taste, while the lemon juice created a contrast to tie the mixture of flavours together in a final oomph.

4. Texas Burger (with Pumpkin Bagel)

  • RM32.80

This honest burger patty (85% USA Angus cornfed beef + 15% Japanese Wagyu fat) comes with tempura onion rings, caramelised onions, cheddar cheese and smokey bbq aioli. Sounds good, right? If you’re a burger lover, then this is the meal for you!

The beef patty is tender and cooked with love. The onion rings and the caramelised onions mix together to give both a soft and crunchy texture, which creates a party in your mouth. This burger was thick, rich and delicious.

5. Say Cheese (with Sourdough Bread)

  • RM26.80

Some may have thought we were actually saying cheese in front of a camera while enjoying this sandwich, as we simply could not stop smiling! 😀 If you’re a REAL hardcore cheese lover you may be able to relate to those moments where some dishes are said to be “cheesy” but there’s somehow never enough cheese?!

However, with Christine’s cheese sandwich there is a generous serving of New York mozzarella cheese that you can happily savour until the very last bite. Dressed with avocado, a sunny side up egg, garlic aioli, pickled cabbage and garden greens, this dish was super yummy!

The sunny side up egg brought the fried goodness while the veggies and garlic brought the freshness. We must also mention that the sourdough bread was so soft and buttery – it was beautiful.

6. Tarts

After tasting these amazing main dishes, we decided to treat ourselves to some tarts for dessert! We started off with the Signature Portuguese Egg Tart (RM3.40) which was egg-cellent! The creaminess in the flavour and soft texture for the filling just oozed goodness in our mouths. Christine’s Bakery has mastered the creation of egg tarts and it clearly showed!

Christine's Bakery

For the sweeter tarts, we tried an array of flavours ranging from Fruit Tart, Mango Peach Tart, Chocolate Cheese Tart and Blueberry Cheese Tart. These tarts were so creaaamyyyyy!

The tarts, priced from RM6 upwards, were made to perfection with a strong biscuit base and soft inner filling. The cream cheese fillings were just spectacular, along with the tangy fruit or decadent chocolate topping, creating the optimum dessert experience.

7. Cakes

Christine's Bakery

While some people opt for a coffee or green tea at the end of a meal, we decided to have cake! Is there ever really a set time or place for eating cake? Isn’t it cake time all the time? Yeah, that’s what we thought too!

So, to finish off our gorgeous meal we tried a slice of the Gluten Free Tiramisu cake (RM14.50). As a tiramisu lover, we can assure you that Christine’s initiative of incorporating this classic dessert into a cake was done brilliantly! This cake was soft, moist and tastefully poetic. Christine’s has a wide choice of other cakes and we recommend you to try them too!

And there you have it, Christine’s Bakery in all its glory. Thanks to our awesome experience at this bake shop we had a food orgasm and a satisfying food coma after! Make sure you drop in at Christine’s Bakery for an equally yummy experience and let us know what you think.
