Moments ago, “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor Chris Pratt took to his social media platforms to announce that he and his wife of 8 years, Anna Faris, are legally separating. In his Facebook post, he wrote:

It was only very recently (27th July 2017) that Anna opened up about her marriage to PEOPLE. In an exclusive interview, Anna talked about what they’re like when they’re home together. “Chris loves to work in the garage and I love to do laundry and watch reality television. Just normal people,” she said at that time.
Chris also previously told PEOPLE in 2015 how they work hard to not lose track of their own relationship amid work, family, and fame. “It’s just as important, if not more important, to focus on your relationship with your partner because your children are going to leave one day [and] you have to maintain a relationship that’s going to outlast your child’s needs for you. I have the support of a strong partner who’s been through this and understands it and whom I can share these experiences with. And we have a family that we’re starting that’s the focus of my attention,” he was quoted as saying.
The 38-year-old actor and the 40-year-old “Scary Movie” actress met on the set of “Take Me Home Tonight” in 2007, where she played his love interested. They were engaged in 2008 and married a year later in Bali. Chris and Anna have one son – Jack – together.
