Famed Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat (周润发) is known for his legendary acting skills. However, fans have also praised other traits, such as his humbleness and his generosity towards them.
Recently, he delighted one lucky netizen who ran into him on the street. In addition to getting a photo opportunity with him, Chow Yun-fat dropped an angpau into their hands!
It isn’t odd to see the 66-year-old actor on the streets with little fanfare. Previously, various netizens have reported seeing him about while carrying on with their daily lives. Of course, many snagged the chance to take a photo with him, which he gladly gave.
However, 12th February had been a little special. According to the netizen who reported the incident, Chow had stopped to dine in a small shop in Hong Kong. While taking photos with fans, Chow also distributed red envelopes to those he met.
This included the employees at the eatery, who were surprised but delighted with his generosity. One curiously opened the packet and was shocked to discover HK$100 (~RM54) inside. One of them immediately praised Chow, saying “Brother Chow is so cool!”
Lunar New Year is certainly a time for many to show their gratitude and generosity. However, celebrities aren’t the only ones with soft hearts. A group of Chinese residents in Perak also gifted their garbage collectors some CNY goodies.
