This is one of the reasons why we are still very much invested in TV series. For this edition, we are shinning the spotlight on 10 upcoming dramas who have recently secured its respective confirmed cast.
1. “I Am This Type of Woman/ Wo Jiu Shi Zhe Ban Nu Zi” (我就是这般女子)
- Cast: Guan Xiaotong (关晓彤), Neo Hou (侯明昊)
- Plot: “Ban Hua is a girl known for her straightforward and feisty personality, and due to this, she was rejected for marriage three times. However, she is actually a kind and sensitive girl. One day, she accidentally finds out that she has the ability to tell the future through dreams. Ban Hua decides to use this to help her family avoid doom. Meanwhile, Rong Xia is a man of outstanding looks and talent, searching for the mystery behind his family’s extermination and the truth of his birth identity. He meets Ban Hua, and the two work together to solve the mystery, and fall in love in the process.”
2. “Yan Gui Xi Chuang Yue” (雁归西窗月)
- Cast: Joseph Zeng (曾舜晞), Liang Jie (梁洁)
- Plot: Based on a comic, this web drama follows a young woman embroiled in a royal dispute.
3. “Be Together/ Wo He Wo Men Zai Yi Qi” (我和我们在一起)
- Cast: Sun Yi (孙怡), Vin Zhang (张彬彬)
- Plot: “Be Together” is about some close friends who mature as the years go by.
4. “The Murder in Kairotei/ Hui Lang Ting Sha Ren Shi Jian” (回廊亭杀人事件)
- Cast: Steven Zhang (张新成), Deng Jiajia (邓家佳)
- Plot: Based on the Japanese novel adaptation of the same name by Keigo Higashino (東野圭吾), “The Murder in Kairotei” follows a woman who is determined to seek justice for her murdered lover.
5. “Astringent Girl” (澀女郎)
- Cast: Yin Tao (殷桃), Song Yi (宋轶), Angel Zhao (赵今麦), Nita Lei (夏若妍), Hu Lianxin (胡连馨)
- Plot: “Astringent Girl” is about a group of urban women and their different personalities and how they tackle love’s challenges.
6. “Mister Perfect and Miss Almost” (完美先生和差不多小姐)
- Cast: Wei Zheming (魏哲鸣), Xu Ruohan (徐若晗)
- Plot: Based on the novel of the same name, this love story centres around two college students who are awkwardly matched.
7. “Bu Yun Qu” (步云衢)
- Cast: Ryan Zhang (张赫), Rain Wang (王鹤润)
- Plot: A princess from Manchuria finds herself falling for a warlord.
8. “Mirror Twin Cities” (镜双城)
- Cast: Yukee Chen, Li Yi Feng
- Plot: “A passionate and optimistic Miao girl, Na Sheng undergoes a long and arduous journey to Desolate Clouds, a dreamlike paradise, in order to escape from the chaos of the world. On her journey, she encounters danger and is saved by Su Mo. However, Na Sheng soon discovers that the Desolate Clouds is not the trouble-free paradise she imagined. As she probes further into the history of Desolate Clouds, she discovers hidden stories, secrets and legends of the world.”
9. “Last Romance” (流金岁月)

- Plot: “Set in the 19th century Shanghai, the drama revolves around two women with different backgrounds who forge a deep friendship.”
10. “Luo Hua Shi Jie You Feng Jun” (落花时节又逢君)

- Plot: A love story based on a xianxia novel.
