The death of Chinese actor Yu Menglong (于朦胧) remains a heated subject with many fans still seeking the truth of his mysterious passing. Unsurprisingly, those rumoured to be involved in his death are now facing backlash, including actor-singer Fan Shiqi (范世锜).
The 33-year-old star has been the subject of controversy after allegations emerged that he may have played a role in Yu Menglong’s death. To recap, on 11th September 2025, the late actor’s studio announced his passing from an accidental fall. However, the public grew suspicious of the matter and dug up details suggesting that Yu Menglong’s death was premeditated. Shockingly, some even alleged that a group of people murdered the 37-year-old.
Among the individuals accused of being involved in Yu Menglong’s death is Fan Shiqi. The star was accused of physically torturing the actor before his untimely passing, even allegedly cutting open his abdomen to obtain incriminating evidence. While Fan Shiqi denied the allegations, he continues to face backlash from the public, and his once-flourishing career has also begun taking a hit.
The actor recently cancelled his upcoming concert in Chengdu, scheduled for 18th October 2025 (Saturday), citing health issues. However, netizens alleged that the real reason for the cancellation was poor ticket sales. The concert reportedly had sold only 15 tickets, highlighting the public’s lowered opinion towards Fan Shiqi because of his supposed involvement in Yu Menglong’s death.
In addition to the cancelled concert, Fan Shiqi’s role in the recent series “Love’s Ambition” was also heavily criticised. The actor only had a minor role in the trending drama. However, the studio removed all promotional materials featuring the actor’s image due to his controversy. At the same time, Fan Shiqi is also facing backlash for a now-deleted post, where he allegedly said that Yu Menglong deserved to die, seemingly hinting that he’s guilty.
