From beautifully caramelised barbecued pork to a hearty bowl of Bak Kut Teh, there are plenty of Malaysian-Chinese dishes that will get our stomachs rumbling and mouth salivating! And what better way to appreciate these delectable dishes than with family now that dine-in is finally allowed.

Be sure to visit the neighbourhood shopping mall Da Men USJ for a selection of some of the best Chinese comfort food. Check out our top picks below.

1. Grand Harbour

Signature Fried Glutinous Rice with Crab

With a modern touch to traditional Chinese dishes, Grand Harbour’s specialities include the finest array of Barbeque Meat that melts in your mouth, healthy and tasty Double Steamed “Tian Ma” Fish Head Herbal Soup, and a range of delectable dim sum that will leave your taste buds tingling for more.

Chan Meng Kee is famous for its mouthwatering barbequed pork (char siew), crispy roast pork and succulent roast duck. Using recipes that have been passed down for generations, this roast meat joint is a must-try!

Enjoy their famous Wonton Mee with Char Siu Pork (RM13.50) to enjoy the springy noodles with incredible caramelised pork with a perfect lean-to-fat ratio – we are drooling just thinking about it!

Anytime is a good time for Bak Kut Teh! Originating from Bandar Botanic Klang, Samy and Min decided to bring their famous authentic Klang Bak Kut Teh to Da Men USJ.

Samy & Min Klang Bak Kut Teh is known for their thick broth and tender and flavourful meat. They go by three trustworthy pillars: Good Meat, Good Soup and Good Rice! And we must say, they check all three boxes!

Dai Cha Dim serves a delicious variety of cha-chaan-teng (or Hong Kong-style café) delights from delectable dim sum, piping hot claypot dishes, to all-time favourite meat, rice and noodle dishes. Try their famous Char Siu and Wonton Noodles (RM13.50), BBQ Duo Combo Rice (RM15.50), Steamed Rice with Pork and Mui Choy (RM13.80) and their Steamed Rice with Luncheon Meat and Pork Lard (RM14.80).

Ong Lai specialises in local cuisine based on pork, offering a variety of dishes with the likes of noodles, rice, soup and dim sum. If you want a good bowl of hearty soup, you’d love their Lotus Roots and Red Beans Pork Ribs Soup (RM9.90). Another must-try is their Steamed Minced Pork and Century Salted Egg with Rice (RM12.90).
