33yo Chinese Lady Left Heartbroken After Long Journey Ends With Biological Family’s Rejection

Some will say that family is the one you choose. But what are you to do when they don’t want you? This woman in China was recently forced to grapple with the question after her biological family rejected her in the worst way possible.

A 33-year-old lady from Shandong, China recently travelled a great distance to meet her biological family after years of searching for them. However, to her distress, not only did they make it clear they had no interest in meeting her, but they refused to even accept her back into their lives.

Reportedly, the lady had been adopted from an orphanage when she was young and lived a happy life with her adoptive parents. However, when she got older, her adoptive parents started encouraging her to look for her biological parents. When the database found a successful match, she believed her biological parents too were searching for her.

She managed to get into contact with her biological mother and decided to travel to Zhejiang to meet them. Unfortunately, during her journey, she learned that only her biological parents would be meeting her. Her sisters-by-blood had refused to show up. Knowing her visit might be misconstrued as her wanting her inheritance from the family, the lady tried to make it clear that she was only here to see how they were doing.

Regretfully, her intentions did not make a difference in their demeanour towards her. “I know, I owe you, I’ve told them,” her father said. Despite his unfeeling words, tears still sprang to her eyes at the sight of her father in front of her. “(You) don’t owe me anything, I just wanted to see you, I want to know how you are doing and I just want to put my regrets behind me,” she explained.

She asked for a hug and told her parents she was willing to care for them in their old age. “I am living a good life (now),” she said. “If you are willing, you can come to Shandong and I will look after you.” Her father however refused to hug her and turned her down her offer, merely telling her: “Good for you, (I’m) pleased.”

Netizens felt for the lady, with many heartbroken by her family’s clear rejection. Some called her to return to Shandong, offering their support to her while others, claiming to be from Zhejiang, apologised to her on her father’s behalf.

Well, we can’t say we truly understand how she feels, but we do hope she does not take the rejection to heart. After all, she still has her adoptive family who seemingly loves her dearly and her husband. Hopefully, she’ll find it in her to let them go and take comfort in the family she already has.
