Many renowned Chinese stars have visited Malaysia these past weeks, including actress Tang Wei (湯唯), who was in East Malaysia a while back. Most recently, Chinese actress Tong Liya (佟丽娅) shared photos from her Kuala Lumpur trip, including a visit to Batu Caves.
The star recently updated her Weibo account with the photos, with the caption, “They are all good pigeons. I wish you all a happy New Year!”. In the picture, Tong Liya stood in the centre of the square and fed pigeons in front of Batu Caves. The 41-year-old was dressed in a bohemian-style outfit and looked to be in a good mood. She also took photos of the monkeys at the Malaysian landmark.

According to reports, Tong Liya was in Malaysia on holiday with her son, Chen DuoDuo (陈朵朵), and some family friends. Some netizens said they met her by chance at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Those who saw her noted her beauty and said she was instantly recognisable despite dressing casually. Others also mentioned DuoDuo’s appearance, saying he looks adorable and like his father, Chinese actor and director Chen Sicheng (陈思诚).
Besides Batu Caves, Tong Liya reportedly visited Bukit Bintang and Petaling Street. Many commended the actress for taking time out of her busy schedule to spend time with her son and take him on holidays. It’s believed Tong Liya received custody of her son after splitting with Chen Sicheng in 2021. However, the ex-couple maintained a close relationship and co-parented their son. The two also recently worked together on the film “Octopus With Broken Arms (误杀3)”.

It’s unknown whether the actress and her son are still in Malaysia. However, judging from her photos, we’d say Tong Liya had a great time in the country, and we hope she’ll return in the future.
