There has been devastating news coming from the Chinese entertainment industry. Entertainers and fans are mourning 37-year-old actor Yu Menglong (于朦胧), who passed away after falling from a building.
On 11th September 2025 (Thursday), the actor’s agency shared a post on Weibo, announcing the devastating news. The post writes, “It is with great sadness that we inform everyone that our beloved Menglong fell to his death on 11th September 2025. After a police investigation, criminal suspicion has been ruled out. May the deceased rest in peace and the living be strong.” The news undeniably shocked Yu Menglong’s colleagues and fans.

Born in Xinjiang in 1988, Yu Menglong made his debut in the entertainment industry through talent competitions. In 2013, he won Hunan Television’s “Super Boy” competition and later signed with EE-Media. The actor had several popular works, including the web drama “Go Princess Go” and the fantasy period drama “Eternal Love (三生三世十里桃花)”, which he co-starred with actress Yang Mi (杨幂) and actor Mark Chao (趙又廷).
Before his agency confirmed the news, rumours were circulating on Chinese social media that a man suspected to be Yu Menglong had fallen to his death in a residential community in Beijing that Thursday morning. It’s unknown whether the actor’s death was a suicide, as there was no criminal suspicion. According to reports, the star’s last public appearance was in July when he was filming for a variety show.

Fans and former co-stars have taken to social media to mourn the actor and pay tribute. Yang Mi posted on Weibo, writing, “Fourth Brother, may you rest in peace in the other world”, referencing his role in “Eternal Love”. Actor Dilraba Dilmurat (迪丽热巴), who also starred in the 2017 fantasy drama, wrote, “In my memory, you have always been the gentle & sincere Bai Zhen. Later, when we met again on a show, you were still the kind & gentle Yu Menglong. Rest in peace, you’ll be forever missed…”
