When you’re a celebrity, what you wear can become a hot topic but for varying reasons. Yesterday (2nd May 2024), young actress Qistina Raisah shared some snapshots from her family vacation on her Instagram. Unfortunately, the images caused a stir among netizens due to her choice of a striking blue dress that seemed to revealed a lot of skin. These photos then ignited a discussion in the comment section, with netizens sharing mixed views.
Qistina is best known as a child actress, who started out in the industry when she was only four years old. She has filmed in “Kelibat (2014)”, “Upin & Ipin: Jeng Jeng Jeng (2016)” and “Rahsia (2023)”. While she may already be a teenager at 16, some still consider her as a child.
The actress’ revealing attire was frowned upon due to it being inappropriate for her age and too revealing. In Islam, it is believed that women should be mindful of their clothing as to not expose too much skin. The majority of comments she received were advice from netizens while others expressed that it’s natural for her to experiment with fashion at her age. However, many still praised her appearance and acknowledged her beauty in the photos.
One supportive netizen commented, “Stop condemning her. She’s enjoying her teenage life. We’ve been saying so much as if we’ve never done wrong things when we were teenagers.” Others praised her for looking beautiful even without makeup. However, there are also comments that condemn her dressing, saying, “As Muslims, we can’t let it go without advising her and we can’t encourage wrong things just because of “enjoying youth” which is a sin. Maybe people can personally advise her. This is my opinion and what I know.”
Despite the feedback, netizens express hope that the 16-year-old actress can reconsider her wardrobe choices and opt for attire more appropriate for her age and religion. Regardless of any criticism Qistina may encounter, the young star is still loved by many.
