When the storm around EXO’s (엑소) legal battles shows no sign of clearing, one voice has quietly cut through the noise. Chen (첸), known for his golden vocals and kind-hearted nature, has reached out to fans with heartfelt words that remind everyone that even in chaos, warmth still finds a way through.
His messages arrive at a time when tensions are running high within the fandom, following renewed updates about the ongoing conflict between EXO-CBX (엑소-첸백시) and SM Entertainment. After months of legal back-and-forth, the trio’s dispute over profit transparency continues without resolution, with courts recently ruling against them in six cases. The uncertainty surrounding their future has left fans both frustrated and heartbroken, but Chen’s simple, sincere words have offered a moment of comfort amid it all.

On 27th October, SM Entertainment announced that EXO will hold a fan meeting titled “EXO’verse” at Inspire Arena in Incheon this December, followed by the release of their eighth full-length album in early 2026. However, the event and album will feature only six members: Suho (수호), Chanyeol (찬열), D.O. (디오), Kai (카이), Sehun (세훈), and Lay (张艺兴/레이), leaving members Chen, Baekhyun (백현), and Xiumin (시우민) excluded due to their ongoing legal issues. This decision has sparked heated debate among fans, with some criticising the EXO-CBX members, while others continue to call for unity among all nine members.
Following the backlash, Chen took to Bubble to share a series of comforting messages with his fans, affectionately known as “Soondaengies.” Though brief, his words reflected warmth and optimism in the face of the ongoing controversy. “My body, mind and heart are always healthy, so don’t worry about me,” he wrote, adding other encouraging notes such as, “Let’s spend the rest of October feeling good. Even if there are gloomy things, let’s smile and get through them! Feel better soon!”

Fans expressed deep appreciation for the idol’s thoughtful gesture, many admitting that his words brought them comfort during a turbulent time for both him and the fandom. Social media was soon flooded with messages of support, with fans praising his positive outlook despite the difficult circumstances.
Though the future of EXO as a nine-member group remains uncertain, Chen’s latest update has reminded many why he remains one of the most emotionally grounded members of the group. For now, fans are holding on to hope that the members will eventually reconcile, allowing EXO to stand together once again as nine.
