In the modern day and age, social media is apparently the window to a person’s life. What you post and don’t post says a lot about what’s going on. Take for instance, local internet celeb Ccwhyao (西西歪) and Taiwanese artist Ada Shih (施語庭).
Ccwhyao and Ada have never been shy about their affection for each other. This didn’t change when they got married in 2020. However, recently, there has been a distinct lack of the duo on each other’s Instagram accounts. As it turns out, the couple got divorced this March!
The duo have always displayed their care and love for each other publicly. Be it on their socials or in their YouTube videos, netizens loved their genuine affection. However, after the two returned to Malaysia from Taiwan earlier this year, something had changed.
Ada had initially said Ccwhyao had helped her settle in well when they flew back from Taiwan. But when they returned to Malaysia, there were several odd occurrences. For one, netizens noted that they weren’t featured on each others Instagram anymore. Posts about the two of them had also been deleted. Additionally, Ccwhyao’s mom had stopped following Ada on her socials.
Rumours started that the duo had split up. On 9th June, the former couple confirmed it. “After some discussion between us, we peacefully dissolved (our) marriage in March 2022,” they stated via an Instagram Story. “This (decision) is the best for us.” They went on to say that they were grateful for the time they had with each other, but were still intent on moving on. “(We) give each other the greatest blessings (for) the future. (And) we will continue to work hard on our respective paths,” they promised.
Ccwhyao has reportedly gone back to Taiwan, but is somewhat inactive on his socials. He’s only posted occasionally on his YouTube channel. However, Ccwhyao still firmly supports Ada’s music career. He recently shared her new song on his Instagram Story.
Well, hopefully fans can support and understand their decision. After all, this is their choice and their life. We too would like to wish them well as they move on from each other.
