Influencer Cathryn Li (李元玲), as we well know, is never one to take things lying down. As such, her latest spat with netizens came as no surprise, especially after they criticised her effort to look good!
The multitalented “Piano Goddess” often posts herself working out and showing off her enviable figure. However, it seems some netizens took it upon themselves to criticise her, claiming she could only do so because she was “not working” and ergo, had time. Needless to say, she wasn’t happy.
As per the norm, Cathryn Li recently uploaded a selfie, flaunting her good looks. While she received the usual encouragement and excitement from fans, several others decided to lash out against her instead. According to the Malaysian beauty, they sent her private messages saying she only had the freedom to cook and exercise as she did because she “didn’t have to work“.
“If you go to the gym and see (those) who work out, (don’t) they have to work? And many of them prepare their own food at home,” she pointed out. “Is it because you have no experience in fitness or eating (well) that you come up with an excuse to criticise people who are self-disciplined?”
She also claimed they were making excuses for their laziness. “There are 24 hours in a day. You can spare two hours to play on Instagram and find girls you don’t know, but you don’t have time to exercise or cook,” she reprimanded. “After being annoyed, you still stay where you are, but they are far ahead of you, and you can only remain an internet troll forever,” the internet personality finished.
She later uploaded a screenshot of a private conversation she had with a netizen on her Instagram Story. The netizen had apparently attempted to defend their comments, saying: “I don’t think I am a troll, I am just telling the truth. You have no burdens, so you don’t understand and say others just want to troll you. Maybe it’s a matter of perspective.”
But, as Cathryn Li quickly noted, it wasn’t as though others did not carry any burdens either. “Only those who have money falling from the sky are qualified to exercise, am I right?” she asked sarcastically. “You spend so much time checking Instagram messages because I (am) unburdened, right?”
Well, there is no denying how much work Cathryn Li has put into maintaining her image and figure, so we can understand why the comments she received were in poor taste. Still, we sincerely hope she doesn’t let the comments get to her and that keeps working hard as she always has.
