It may be true that legends never die. However, they do, eventually, come to an end. And it seems TVB may be losing a very iconic figure from their lineup of artists.
Hong Kong actress and TV host Carol Cheng (郑裕玲) has been with TVB for over 38 years. She’s made her mark and her career with the broadcasting company. However, Carol is allegedly considering leaving the nest!
The 65-year-old is supposedly planning on letting her contract expire without renewing it. According to Hong Kong media, Carol is hoping to start a new chapter in her life and enjoy the time she has. However, Carol has not responded to said news yet.
Carol joined TVB back in 1987 after the collapse of her previous broadcasting company. Although she had featured in various dramas then, her career only really took off after she joined TVB. Carol became noticed for her works in “The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (网中人)”, “Five Easy Pieces (轮流传)” and “War of the Genders (男亲女爱)”.
In 1987, Carol did leave TVB to move to Canada and make her debut in the film industry. However, in 1992, she returned to TVB. From there, Carol started hosting and doing variety shows, much to the delight of her fans. Additionally, she has also done radio hosting.
Many admire the artist for her versatility and the ability to excel in all she applied herself to in her career. As such, it comes as no surprise that fans around the world are concerned with the news. Some artists have also expressed hope that it will not be true.
Well, regardless of others’ feelings, the decision ultimately lies with Carol. We sincerely hope she chooses well for herself and are sure many will support her, in whatever she wants to do.
