It seems that things will not work out for Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and his family. In a series of Instagram Stories posts, the media personality speaks up about his parents, Sir David Beckham and Lady Victoria Beckham, amidst rumours of discord.
Earlier today (Tuesday, 20th January 2026 MYT), Brooklyn took to Instagram to break his silence amid the ongoing speculation of a feud between him and his parents. In his statement, the eldest child of David and Victoria said that he had tried to keep his family matters private, but decided to speak up, alleging that his parents had repeatedly told lies to the press.
Brooklyn then affirmed his relationship with his family, saying, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.” He continued, claiming that his parents have been controlling the media narrative about the Beckham family throughout his life, to “preserve their own facade”.
The majority of the statement focuses on his wife, actress Nicola Peltz. Brooklyn claims that the Beckham family have repeatedly disrespected her throughout their relationship. The 26-year-old proceeds to share the many instances of his parents mistreating Nicola, including his mother “hijacking” Brooklyn and Nicola’s first dance as a married couple.
Brooklyn also alleged that his parents have pressured him to sign away the rights to his name, which he claimed would affect him, Nicola and their future children. He also criticised the couple for prioritising their public image over everything. He also argued that their family “love” is only on the surface level, amplified for social media.
Brooklyn ends his post, saying, “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared”. He also said that he and his wife want peace, privacy and happiness for themselves and their future family.
