“We will always be family,” said Angelina Jolie during her recent interview with BBC World News.
The Hollywood actress opened up about her split from Brad Pitt for the first time since filing for divorce in September last year. In speaking with BBC’s Yalda Hakim in Cambodia, she revealed that the past few months had been a “very difficult time” for her family to endure.
“I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time. We are a family and we will always be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it,” she shared.
Jolie was in Cambodia to promote her new directorial project, “First They Killed My Father”, alongside her 6 children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, as well as twins Knox and Vivienne.
She continued, “Many, many people find themselves in this situation. My focus is my children, our children… and my focus is finding this way through. We are and forever will be a family. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer.”
When asked about the future, the “Maleficent” actress admitted that she wants to travel around the world, visiting her children.
“Everything I do I hope that I represent something, and I represent the right things to my children, and give them the right sense of what they’re capable of, and the world as it should be seen. Not through the prism of Hollywood or through a certain kind of life, but really take them into the world, where they have a really good sense and become rounded people,” Jolie added.
Brangelina first fell in love with each other during the filming of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2005 and in 2006, Jolie confirmed that she was pregnant with Pitt’s child.
Jolie filed for divorce on 19th September “for the health of the family”. The family was allegedly involved in a serious argument on board a private jet. This prompted the FBI to investigate and Pitt has been cleared of child abuse allegations.
