The 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) 2016 financial aid scheme will be divided into 4 stages in 1 year with the first phase beginning on 28th January.

Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah has announced that the BR1M payment will start today and subsequently 28th April, 23rd June, and 28th September. The disbursement plan is to encourage recipients to make wiser budget plans with the money.

A new category call the e-Kasih household income programme has also been included this year to assist families with a household income of RM1000 and below. Those eligible will be entitled to a total amount of RM1050 that will be divided into RM250 each time in January and April, RM300 in June, and RM250 in September.

For its upgraded payment scheme, the BR1M assistance for family with household income below RM3000 has been raised from RM950 to RM1000 while family with household income between RM3000 and RM4000 has been raised from RM750 to RM800 for this year.
