After passing away in late October from cancer-related organ failure, beloved Hong Kong Benz Hui (許紹雄) will finally be laid to rest next week. In a move to allow fans to pay their last respects, the late actor’s family announced a public memorial service on the day of his funeral.
Benz’s family previously announced the funeral will take place at the Po Fook Memorial Hall in Tai Wai, Hong Kong. The late TVB star, who passed away on 28th October 2025, will lie in repose at the memorial hall on 17th November 2025 (Monday), with a private vigil conducted for relatives and close friends. The funeral service will take place the following morning, 18th November 2025 (Tuesday), after which the cortege will proceed to cremation.

Earlier this week, the family confirmed that a public tribute hour will be held in the afternoon of his vigil, allowing fans to pay their respects. The public remembrance will take place from 4pm to 5pm, on 17th November, at the memorial hall. Only the public tribute hour is open to all, as the other ceremonies, including the vigil and funeral, will be held in private. The family also asked for understanding and respect for their wishes.
The family also mentioned that they will donate all proceeds from the funeral donations to the Children’s Cancer Foundation to honour Benz’s final wish. They said, “We hope to transform our grief into compassion, continue his (Benz) benevolent spirit, and ignite new hope for young lives,” additionally requesting that relatives and friends donate money instead of sending flower wreaths to the funeral.

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong entertainment industry continues to mourn the late actor and his contributions to film and television. Broadcast stations like TVB also reran some of Benz’s popular works on their channels. Earlier this week, RTHK’s “Doctors and You – Talking About Food, Drink, and Health II” premiered their final interview with the actor before his passing, where he opened up about his cancer diagnosis.
We hope for a smooth funeral procession for the star’s family and loved ones, and we also hope they can find strength during this difficult time. May Benz rest in peace.
