When you get married, you’ll definitely want your family and friends there. In fact, your closest friends will likely be by your side on your special day! Either as bridesmaids or groomsmen, they will be there, supporting you as you say “I do”.
One common rule among bridesmaids is, of course, to not outshine the bride herself. However, this beautiful bridesmaid in China apparently drew so much attention, some mistook her for the bride instead!
Just recently, a couple held their wedding at Jiangmen in the Guangdong province in China. As per tradition, the bride arrived at the wedding venue by car with her bridesmaids. Those in attendance had already gathered to greet the bride and were simply waiting for her to get down from the car.
Of course, the bridesmaids were the first to descend. Clothed in crimson dresses, they made quite an eye-catching sight. However, one lady in particular drew the most attention with her stunning visage. Thinking it was the bride, someone almost went over to offer her an umbrella as she got down from the car.
They soon realised their mistake, especially after the bride herself joined the party. However, several felt that the bride’s visage paled in comparison to the bridesmaid. As such, it prompted some to complain, claiming the bridesmaid should not have been wearing red as it was too similar to the bride’s dressing. Additionally, some felt the bridesmaid’s dress was prettier and more fashionable than the bride’s.
But, the bridesmaid felt this was not an issue in the slightest. She argued that the bride herself had been the one to chose the bridesmaids’ clothes and colour. As such, it probably wasn’t an issue to the bride. “We’re a family; there’s no talk of stealing the limelight, let along such trivial matters,” the bridesmaid reportedly said.
Well, while some may be indignant on the bride’s behalf, it is her and her husband’s special day. If she doesn’t have a problem with the bridesmaid’s dressing, it’s probably fine! We do offer our sincere congratulations however and hope they live happy, fulfilling lives.
