Thailand has emerged as one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world. Bangkok, in particular, has always been a tourist hotspot, and a favourite among Malaysians thanks to its famous food scene, vibrant nightlife, and bustling shopping districts. So, if you’re planning for your next adventure in the wonderful capital of Thailand, keep reading!

In this list, you’ll find restaurants and cafes that serve the best Thai cuisines, shopping areas with the best finds and the best prices, as well as night spots where you can party the night away:

Cafes/ Restaurants

Thong Smith

If you didn’t eat boat noodles in Thailand, did you really go to Thailand? Famed for its boat noodles with rich broth and premium beef, Thong Smith is a favourite among locals and tourists. Their boat noodles are served in several combinations, generally in spicy broth or dry, with beef or pork. A good place to chill out after a long day on the busy streets.

Location: Central World, 3rd Floor #B302, 999/9 Rama 1 Road, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330

Phed Mark

Phed Mark specialises in a famous Thai comfort food called Pad Kaprao, a stir-fried dish combining holy basil (kaprao), minced meat, garlic and chillies served on rice, topped with a fried egg. Considered as the best pad kaprao you can find in Bangkok, the restaurant’s signature offering lets you choose between beef, pork, Thai sour sausage, wagyu beef, squid, and even a vegetarian version! There are five levels of heat you can choose from: non-spicy, much less spicy, less spicy, medium signature, and VERY spicy.

Location: 300 Sukhumvit Road, Phra Khanong, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110

Mae Varee

Like the boat noodle, Mango Sticky Rice is a Thailand staple! With 20 years of experience, Mae Varee’s Mango Sticky Rice is considered to be the city’s top spot for the classic Thai dessert. Aside from the mango sticky rice, Mae Varee also sells a variety of sweet desserts like mango sundaes, as well as whole mangoes.

It’s famed for its viral Mama Tom Yum Noodles, which is essentially instant noodles served with mixed seafood such as prawns and squid, along with eggs and pork meatballs. Aside from the Instagram-worthy Mama noodles, they also serve other dishes like spicy Thai-style salad, salmon sashimi, and their signature crispy pork belly. However, you should expect a long que as it is a tourist hotspot. We recommend booking a head of time.
