Last Saturday (19th November) was indeed an eventful one for the public. Millions of Malaysians came down to their assigned polling centres to cast their votes for the 15th General Election (GE15).
Although voting comes once every five years in, it appears that there were still a few Malaysian citizens out there who didn’t bother to exercise their rights at this year’s general election. Among those who were accused of not casting their votes includes local singer Baby Shima.
Scrolling through her Instagram, it appears that Shima is currently in Indonesia for work. The former reality TV star personally revealed that she was included in a lineup for KSB’s 19th anniversary concert. The event was held last night (Sunday, 20th November). On the same day, Shima also posted a video on TikTok, which has in turn sparked controversy online.
The singer, who was clad in a baby blue top and a pair of white jeans, was seen dancing suggestively to her new song called “Sejenak Sendiri”. In the video, the dangdut star also claimed that she wasn’t bothered about casting her votes in the general election. Instead, Shima said that would like to focus on the show.

As expected, many netizens didn’t react too kindly to Shima’s video on social media. Most of them took to social media to put her on blast. “Is she a Malaysian or Indonesian citizen?” one netizen questioned. Another added, “One of the people who didn’t fulfill their responsibility (of casting their votes).”

Last week, Shima also found herself landing in hot waters over a video she posted on her socials about the general election. “Which party should I vote for? I’m confused!” the 30-year-old said in the clip. She then told her fans and followers to vote for herself in the next general election.
