Asia’s First Museum Of Illusions Officially Opens In Kuala Lumpur

There’s a new attraction in town y’all. Museum of Illusions, arguably one of the fastest growing museum chain, has found a home right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

Housing over 70 exhibits, Museum of Illusions has the largest single collection of optical illusions that will tantalise visitors to a visual and sensory experience. Feel free to laugh, scream, run, and snap loads of photos when you visit this creative space.

According to a press release, Kuala Lumpur is the 7th Museum of Illusions since the maiden attraction originated in Zagreb, Croatia (by inventor Nikola Tesla) back in 2015. Another 7 museums are expected to debut by the end of the year. They include destinations like New York, Berlin, Dubai, and Toronto.

Illusions here vary from one to another. One of the highlights is the Vortex Tunnel where it tricks the brain that you’re not walking on a solid ground while passing through a rotating cylinder. There is also a gravity-defying slanted room and visual illusions (where a person shrinks while another grows in size).

What’s interesting about Museum of Illusions is that it challenges the mind at every step and turn. “The way our brain works is extremely complex, we don’t merely perceive reality as we or feel it. What our brain does is gather information from each of our senses, combining and enhancing some details while ignoring others,” said Museum director Azizul Aznan.

He added, “With each of our exhibits, we intentionally alter this information and in doing so we alter your perception of reality in surprising, intriguing, and fun ways. This museum is something you truly need to experience first-hand.”
