Who would have thought that besides being very talented in showbiz, the late Ashraf Sinclair was also skilful in other things. Ashraf’s business venture ranges from investment companies and eateries to gyms.

He used to invest his personal funds for Korean cosmetics label Althea and also local on-demand streaming service iFlix. Ashraf said once in an interview that the creative industry in Indonesia will grow rapidly and it will require technology and capital support.
2. Joining Ventura
Based on the data obtained from startup website crunchbase.com, it appears that the “Renjis” actor has also been listed as Ventura’s business partner in over 500 startups since 2017. The aforementioned number of startups have invested in several Indonesian brands such as BukaLapak, Kudo, Brodo, Hijup, dan Kredivo.

The late star has also opened a restaurant called Bulgogi Brothers, located at Lotte Shopping Avenue in South Jakarta. The eating house serves various Korean-style delicacies. Interestingly, it was the first ever Bulgogi Brothers franchise in the country since it was launched back in October 2013.

The “Gol & Gincu” star has also invested in a T.G.I Fridays chain in his second home in Indonesia. The restaurant is located in the Kemang district in South Jakarta. The investment indeed felt personal for him as throughout his life, Ashraf often spoke up about his experience working as a waiter at the American eatery chain.

Pondok Sunda is a restaurant specialising in unique Sundanese cuisine operated by the lovely couple. The restaurant is located at the heart of Senayan City shopping mall in Central Jakarta. According to BCL, her growing love for food has in turn driven her spirit to start a business in the food industry with her husband.

Started from just a hobby, Ashraf eventually opened a fitness centre focusing on CrossFit training. The London-born heartthrob himself was involved with the sports back in 2012. His investment makes sense since CrossFit is one of the fastest growing sport exercises in Indonesia.
Created by Greg Glassman, CrossFit requires rigid moves taken from simple daily activities such as pushing, pulling, throwing, jumping and so on. CrossFit is also known for its high-intense activities. For example, one training session can include over 100 times of pushups, pull-ups, sit-ups and squats respectively.
Even the day before his passing, Ashraf was still practising the extreme routine that evening at a local gym nearby his residence. Coincidence, much?
