Last September, Apple unveiled their latest iPhone 15 models along with the Apple Watch variants. Since then, fans of the tech giant have been waiting for more announcements for their other products like the iPad, iMac or MacBook.

After months of speculations and rumours, we finally have an update on one of those items. While there’s currently no information on the other two, Apple unveiled their latest additions to the MacBook Air series yesterday (Monday, 4th March). Without getting into too much detail, here’s all you need to know:

1. M3 Chips

The star of the show for these new releases is that both the MacBook Air 13-inch and the 15-inch will come with an M3 chip which is said to be taking its incredible combination of power-efficient performance and portability to a new level. According to the official website, the laptops with the M3 chips will perform 60% faster than the models with the M1 chip, as expected.

The new models will also feature up to 18 hours of battery life, which is up to 6 hours longer than an Intel-based MacBook Air. Apple also claims that the variants are the best consumer laptops for advanced AI features now that it has a faster and more efficient Neural Engine in M3.

2. Pricing and Availability

Both variants are available in 4 colours which are midnight, starlight, silver, and space grey. Of course, there’s more to be said about what these bad boys can do with the new M3 chips like improved gaming and Excel sheet performances and faster video editing processing but we’ll leave that for you to try out for yourself.
