2026 is turning out to be Anne Hathaway’s year, and the box office numbers are proving it! From returning to the fashion world of The Devil Wears Prada to starring in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, the actress has been everywhere this year.
Now, with her latest film, Verity, taking the top spot at the box office, Anne Hathaway has officially scored three No.1 films in 2026. Across her 5 movie releases this year, the combined worldwide box office earnings have reportedly passed $2.65 billion, making this one of the biggest years of her career.
Three No.1 Films In One Year
Hathaway’s latest success comes from Verity, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. The movie opened at No.1 with an impressive $32 million during its opening weekend, earning four times as much as Tom Cruise’s Digger.
The film joins two of Hathaway’s other major releases this year.
First came The Devil Wears Prada 2, the long-awaited sequel that brought audiences back into the world of fashion and earned $693.3 million worldwide.
Then came Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which became the 11th highest-grossing film of all time, collecting a massive $1.76 billion worldwide.
Together, these three films have given Hathaway an impressive run at the box office, proving that audiences are still excited to see her on the big screen.
Five Films, One Very Busy Anne Hathaway
Beyond her three box office hits, Hathaway also appeared in two other films this year, Mother Mary and The End of Oak Street.
That brings her total to five film releases in 2026, with combined earnings reportedly exceeding $2.652 billion.
It has also been a particularly busy year for the actress, who has spent much of it attending premieres and promoting her films while being pregnant.
Her success is especially interesting considering that Hathaway has spent much of the 2020s exploring smaller, independent films rather than focusing only on major Hollywood productions.
Projects such as Eileen, She Came to Me and Colossal have shown her interest in different kinds of stories, while romantic films like The Idea of You have kept her connected with mainstream audiences.
With 2026 bringing together major sequels, big-budget productions and a bestselling book adaptation, Hathaway has found herself at the centre of several successful releases.
Is Anne Hathaway The Box Office Queen of 2026?
While Hathaway’s films have enjoyed impressive success, she is not the only actress having a major year at the cinemas.
Her The Odyssey co-star Zendaya is also making headlines with her box office achievements.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reportedly earned more than $2.5 billion worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing film of all time.
Zendaya also has Dune: Part Three arriving this Christmas, which could push her combined box office earnings for 2026 even higher. The report suggests her films could finish the year with more than $5 billion in total earnings.
Of course, box office success cannot be credited to one actor alone. Major directors, popular franchises and bestselling book adaptations all play a part in bringing audiences to cinemas.
Still, Hathaway’s ability to move between romance, drama, fashion and large-scale films has helped make 2026 a standout year for her.
A Hollywood Comeback Worth Celebrating
For an actress who has sometimes been underestimated despite her long career, 2026 feels like a major moment.
From the fashionable return of The Devil Wears Prada 2 to the success of The Odyssey and Verity, Hathaway has shown just how much range she brings to the screen.
