Angelina Jolie, 44, has no plans on letting Brad Pitt, 55, get joint custody on their kids, as she is reportedly fine with where things stand right now.
The once perfect marriage, was well and truly shattered with the couple announcing their split back in 2016. What then followed were a series of legal battles between the pair, that lasted for years. The most contested of which, was the custody battle for their 6 children.
The custody battles drag on for nearly 2 years, until the former flames ultimately decided on a temporary custody deal in 2018. The deal meant that the “Fury” actor had less than 50 percent custody of his children, but will receive regular weekly visiting hours.
According to Hollywood Life, a source familiar to Jolie told them: “They have a complicated arrangement at present, but she has primary custody with Brad getting tons of visitation as instructed by a judge the last time they went to court”.
The sourced then continued, “No, she has no plans to offer him joint custody” with Jolie seemingly content with the current arrangement, and planned to keep it this way, “unless she’s ordered to do so by the judge.”
The insider added that, “She has no issues with Brad spending time with the kids and she is being sure to follow all visitation guidelines set down by the courts, but she doesn’t want to give up primary custody”. The person also did clarify that the “Maleficent” actress will concede custody of the children if ordered to do so.
The source later added, “When they’re all in town (in Los Angeles), the kids have their visits with their dad at his home in Los Feliz several times a week. They travel back and forth with their bodyguards and drivers and Angelina doesn’t go along for the hand off. It is very well coordinated and drama free.”
Together, Jolie and Pitt have 6 children – Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, Knox, 11, and Vivienne, 11, with the eldest Maddox, 18, currently studying in South Korea.
