Variety has reported that “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” star Noomi Rapace is in talks to play Amy Winehouse in Kirsten Sheridan’s upcoming biographical movie about the late English singer.
The biopic comes after the release of “Amy”, an award-winning documentary that was directed by Asif Kapadia.

The biopic will focus on the life of the Grammy-winning jazz singer who passed away at 27 due to an accidental alcohol poisoning back in 2011.
Sheridan, writer and director of this upcoming biopic, told the weekly American entertainment trade magazine:
Amy’s music is felt so deeply by the audience because it was deeply personal.
“Her vulnerability was her strength. She was called many things such as a diva, a lost soul preyed upon by tabloids, a tortured genius; our aim is an innovative, emotional and life-affirming approach as we go through the looking glass into her life and art,” she added.

Rapace is best known for her roles in “Prometheus“, “The Drop“, and “Dead Man Down“.
The Swedish actress achieved international fame with her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptations of the Millennium series: “The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets’ Nest”, “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”, and “The Girl Who Played With Fire”.
She is also currently in talks to play Enzo Ferrari’s wife, Laura Dominica, in Michael Mann’s upcoming biopic about the Italian auto legend.
