AmBank Group may be one of Malaysia’s largest financial institutions, but like many others, they’ve started scaling things down. On 30th May, AmBank announced that they will be consolidating two more branches and merging them with nearby existing branches.

Previously, AmBank announced the consolidation to its Jasin and Kuala Kangsar branches on 28th March. Now, they’ve set their sights on AmBank Raub and AmBank Tanjung Karang.

According to the notice put out, AmBank Raub will be merged with AmBank Bentong, while AmBank Tanjung Karang is set to be merged with AmBank Bestari Jaya. The two branches will still continue operations as they are pending approval from Bank Negara. Their last day of operation will be on 2nd December 2022.

However, customers of the Raub and Tanjung Karang branches should not fret about the change. Their existing accounts will be transferred to the new consolidated branches without any changes. AmBank promises that all details and bank account numbers will remain the same.

Additionally, customers can still carry out their transactions via their self-service machines such as their Automated Teller Machine (ATM), Cash Deposit Machine (CDM), and Cheque Deposit Machine (CQM). They can also opt to use their online banking services via their apps; AmOnline and AmOnline Biz. Both are available in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Well, although AmBank is consolidating their branches, it’s clear they still have their customers best interests in mind.
