Get ready for another thrilling creation as adidas collaborates with JJJJound for the first time ever. The German athletic apparel brand and the Canadian design label have joined forces to bring back a beloved classic with a whole new look.
When it comes to adidas shoes, the first design many would think of is the brand’s Samba shoes, an iconic silhouette that anyone can easily recognise and that has stood the test of time. This popular pair of footwear has been universally adored for its sleek design and simplistic form factor, which does not compromise on performance.
Making its debut back in 1949, the adidas Samba was an instant favourite and a beloved piece of functional fashion. It is also for that reason that the popular sports brand has teamed up with JJJJound to give these famous sneakers a much-deserved makeover.
The signature Samba trainer gets a premium leather update in two colorways: black with white stripes and white with black stripes. There’s more than meets the eye, as each pair is meticulously crafted with the utmost attention to detail and enhanced with thoughtful touches such as co-branded sock liners and custom vintage hang tags.
Dedicated artisans handcraft each pair in adidas’ Scheinfeld factory, creating a historic piece that adds another milestone to the Samba’s storied history.
The redesign goes for a more elegant, minimalist style that connects the shoes to their football heritage. In that vein, both feature versions of the shoe’s premium leather upper, giving it a smooth, glossy body.
However, it is contrasted by a suede t-toe that introduces a splash of texture to the design.
Continuing the leather trend, the shoes feature gold leather and a white lining for maximum comfort while adding more eye-catching hues.
And to top the design off, the adidas Samba features the three iconic strips found in almost every shoe the German manufacturer makes; and a gold-foil JJJJound embossing further accents those strips on the side.
Despite its sporty yet lifestyle design, it’s still an athletic shoe first and foremost.
Hence, the gum rubber outsole is there to provide superb grip and a natural feel whether you walk or run.
The adidas x JJJJound shoes will be available to order on 27th March 2024, priced at US$250 (~RM1,179).
