Adam Loi Is Not The First Malaysian To Receive The Covid-19 Vaccine

There were rumours circulating of a volunteer named Adam Loi, who was the first individual in Malaysia to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

Turns out, there’s been a misinformation as the Health Ministry has refuted the rumours.

It was mentioned in a statement that Loi instead received a research vaccine but not a Covid-19 one.

Based on a Facebook post on Monday, 1st February, “Graphics are spreading on social media claiming that Adam Loi is the first recipient. That graphic is untrue. For your information, he is the first volunteer to receive the Covid-19 research vaccine, not the Covid-19 vaccine“.

From what the Health Ministry obtained from the studies of the clinical research, Loi had possibly received a placebo. This implies that the first volunteer to receive the vaccine in Malaysia has not been confirmed yet.

The Health Ministry also stated, “We hope this explanation will provide the truth behind who is the first vaccine recipient in Malaysia. We hope the graphics will not be spread in order to prevent public confusion“.

Before all of this, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, the Director-General of Health, stated that the supply of the first phase of Covid-19 vaccine purchased by the government from the pharmaceutical company, Pfizer is expected to arrive sometime in Malaysia on 26th February.

Plus, Dr. Noor Hisham also added that when the vaccine makes its arrival in Malaysia, it will be distributed to the states in the country before being injected to the recipient.
