Most celebrities would want to keep their private life, private, especially when it comes to their partners. Some would only admit to dating someone after a few months into the relationship while others straight up announced that they’re getting married soon.
For actress Daniella Sya, she has definitely been keeping quiet about her dating life until very recently. In a recent interview with local media, the actress revealed that she’s currently in a relationship with a Malay man.
In a recent interview with Berita Harian, Daniella Sya talked about playing a Muslim character on a Malay drama series titled “Hijrah Jannah”. The 35-year-old was asked if she will ever consider converting to the religion after playing a Muslim character to which she responded, “I’m not against the idea of me converting to Islam one day. Coincidentally, I’m actually in a relationship with a Malay man”.
For privacy reasons, the actress did not share any further details about her boyfriend or how the two came to know each other aside from the fact that he’s not someone from the entertainment industry. “He’s just an ordinary person. I love him ’cause of how much he respects me,” she stated before adding that they both have not yet discussed how they want to move forward with their relationship.
In the same interview, the Kedah-born celeb revealed that she has also gotten criticisms from netizens for posting sexy photos on her Instagram since they believed she was actually a Muslim after seeing her play her character in the drama series. “My celebrity friends advised me to just continue to be myself and not pretend just to satisfy other people,” said the public figure.
Apart from her dating life, Daniella was also asked about her thoughts on polygamy since her character Jannah in “Hijrah Jannah” is in a polygamous marriage. She stated that she was once skeptical about polygamy but has now gained a new understanding of the concept after playing her character.
The actress said, “As someone of a different race, it was hard for me to understand polygamy. I admit playing Jannah did traumatise me a little but I remind myself that it was all acting.” We wish nothing but the best for Daniella in her relationship.
