As an actor and influencer, going through online criticism and harassment is a day-to-day, normal thing. Scrolling through negativity every single day and trying to recover from it must be a hard thing to do. We as netizens should understand and sympathise with their situation.
But for this actor, Raja Atiqullah, or simply, Raja Atiq, harassment has gone above and beyond when some of his naughty followers asked him for more than just the ordinary selfie. This actor revealed that getting lewd comments online is one of the many ways he interacts with his fans.
According to Gempak, the actor does not mind getting these lewd comments as they brighten up his Instagram comments. He explained further that without the support of these fans, there wouldn’t be him in the first place. The actor then said, “I wouldn’t say I respond (to the lewd comments), but I do respond from time to time as a sign of communication. Because they are my fans too.”
“Without them, my Instagram comments would be sad and quiet. But with them, it would be lively. Though, there are some messages that make me uncomfortable. But depending on the questions, I’ll choose (the good ones) to respond to.” The actor then added that most of the naughty comments came from men.
“Other than comments, I also do get DMs (Direct Messages). Some of the worst would be those who send pictures without any clothes on. Even more frightening, I would get messages from men who said they’ll ‘melt’ when they see me, even asking for videos of my lower body. But even then, I will not block them (on Instagram) because they are the reason why my Instagram comments are consistently active. If I do block them, I would lose a lot of followers.” he added.
Scrolling through his Instagram comments, many men can be seen openly flirting with the actor. But some were even braver, harassing and spamming him with inappropriate emojis. The other men, however, seemed like they were joking, so the actor replied with either light jokes or just a simple like.
