A$AP Yams, the co-founder and genius behind the A$AP Mob, has passed away at the age of 26. No details on the cause of death have been revealed.
You may not know or heard of A$AP Yams, but he was a prominent figure in the modern hip-hop world. As a founding member of A$AP Mob, he was responsible for recruiting A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg, who would go on to be the crew’s two breakout members.
Yam was one of the first to realise the potential of Tumblr as a platform for hip-hop taste making and mixtape distribution and used it to popularise his crew. The hip-hop community has paid tribute to Yam on social media.
