Earlier this week, Malaysian social media personality Khairul Aming announced his first restaurant, Rembayung. Given the influencer’s popularity, it’s no surprise that many are curious about the soon-to-open eatery.
In an Instagram Live stream on 10th December 2025 (Wednesday), the influencer answered questions about his new restaurant, including parking, price and capacity. In his initial announcement video, Khairul Aming revealed that the restaurant is in Kampung Baru, less than 10 minutes from KLCC. He also noted that the restaurant should accommodate around 250 people.
Given the location, many were concerned about parking – or lack of. In the livestream, Khairul Aming, fondly referred to as KA, admitted that parking at his restaurant will be limited. Instead, he encourages customers to carpool to the restaurant or use e-hailing rides. He also mentioned that his restaurant is within walking distance of a monorail, so using public transportation is another option.
Khairul Aming also said that his restaurant will implement a reservations-only system and won’t allow walk-ins. He explained that only 200-250 people will be allowed in a restaurant at a time to avoid long waits and overcrowding. Khairul added that having the system is for the safety and convenience of his customers, because he doesn’t want people to wait hours under the blazing sun or pouring rain.
As for price, the social media personality said the menu, which focuses on traditional Malay flavours, has both cheap and expensive options. However, he admitted he couldn’t bring down prices to make them affordable for the masses because he has to consider the cost of running the restaurant. Previously, Khairul Aming revealed that it cost him RM4 million to build the restaurant. Additionally, Rembayung employs 50 local workers.
