K-pop fans are known to drop crazy amounts of money on their idols – but how much are you willing to pay for the exclusive experience of seeing your idol filming their music video? Well, one Jackson Wang (잭슨/王嘉爾) fan seemed to have dropped thousands of dollars for that exact experience!
The GOT7 (갓세븐) member recently participated in an online auction organised by JOOPITER, a global digital-first auction house founded by American singer Pharrell Williams. Earlier in June, JOOPITER opened up an exclusive auction featuring a curation of items from Jackson’s archive, including custom outfits from his Magic Man tour, Team Wang accessories and some of his fencing gear from his pre-debut days.

However, the most coveted “item” in the auction was the opportunity to experience a Jackson Wang music video filming. According to the description, the experience allows a fan of Jackson the chance to be behind the scenes and on the set of Jackson’s next music video. While there were no details about the music video, it’s expected to be filmed sometime in 2025. Given the exclusivity of this experience, it’s no surprise that the estimated price for this auction lot was around US$10,000 to US$15,000.
The auction concluded on 25th June (Tuesday), and the final biddings for all the lots were published on the JOOPITER website. As expected, the music video filming experience received the highest final bid of all the lots, at a whopping US$77,500 (approximately RM365,900). However, it’s worth noting that the winning bidder will also need to fund their travel expenses and accommodations, meaning they’ll have to pay more for the entire experience.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until 2025 to find out who the lucky bidder was and what they’ll experience during the filming. However, given that all proceeds from this auction will be donated to charity, we’d say it’s a win-win situation for all.
