Coachella is known to be one of the biggest annual music festivals that takes place in the US. Many global artists have had the privilege to perform there and even headline the event. In recent years, many K-pop acts have also been given the opportunity to show the world their talents.
Unfortunately, not every group have managed to wow the crowd throughout the entirety of their set. After LE SSERAFIM and ATEEZ went viral over the weekend, Times Now released their list of Worst to Best Performances by K-pop Groups at Coachella ranking. Wanna guess which group ranked the best? Let’s find out:
6. LE SSERAFIM (공식 인스타그램) (2024)

Taking the bottom spot is LE SSERAFIM, one of the K-pop groups that took the stage at this year’s Coachella for the very first time. While they have received praises for their amazing set, the idols were also hit with massive backlash over their live vocals. According to Times Now, the “UNFORGIVEN” singers appeared to have lost their energy halfway through their performances. There’s even an online debate on whether the group was ready for such a massive platform.
5. aespa (에스파)(2022)
@besttokkiii AESPA COACHELLA – BLACK MAMBA. #aespa #aespacoachella #my #kpop #coachella #xyzbca
Girl group aespa made their Coachella debut back in 2022 and it was the largest audience the idols had performed for. Not only that, it was also their first performance ever in front of a live audience. This is because aespa debuted during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and did not had any opportunity to perform for their Korean fans at the usual music shows. While they didn’t have much stage presence then, the members still gave it their all to entertain everyone at the festival.
4. BLACKPINK (블랙핑크)(2019)
@coachella @blackpinkofficial back in your area 🖤💖 Jump into the Sahara for their 2019 Coachella debut before they return to the desert in April.
Possibly one of the most talked-about performances in Coachella history and the first-ever K-pop girl group to grace the festival’s stage is BLACKPINK. Those who weren’t familiar with K-pop instantly became fans as BLACKPINK gave an unforgettable set performing their biggest hits such as “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “As If It’s Your Last”. It was later revealed in their concert documentary that member Jisoo was sick that day. Kudos to her for powering through.
3. 2NE1 (투애니원)(2022)

This definitely would’ve made the top spot if there was more 2NE1. Korean rapper CL surprised fans at Coachella with a special 2NE1 reunion for their song “I AM THE BEST”. The iconic girl group had fans screaming at the top of their lungs the second their silhouettes appeared on stage. Although it has been years since the girls performed together as a group, they still haven’t forgotten their choreography and gave new fans what they’ve been missing all these years.
2. ATEEZ (에이티즈)(2024)
@coachella @ATEEZ_Official hit ‘em like Rocky #coachella #ateez
The only boy group on this list and the first-ever K-pop boy group to take Coachella stage is ATEEZ. Not only did they wow the crowd with their energetic performances but some of the members went viral for their very revealing stage outfits that had fans thirsting over them.
1. BLACKPINK (2023)

You probably already seen this coming but there’s no denying the power that BLACKPINK has over the music industry. The girls made history once again by becoming the first-ever K-pop group to headline Coachella back in 2023! #PinkChella trended that evening as the members gave fans a taste of what it’s like to attend their sold-out world tours. Guess you could say BLACKPINK really is the “Typa Girl” that would bring Coachella on their feet the entire night.
Do you agree with Times Now’s list? Which of these K-pop groups do you think deserve the top spot?
