Facebook user LInly LinLy recently made headlines after she called out two delivery riders for eating her Chinese New Year cookies.
Moreover, the Puchong home baker also went on Facebook on Sunday (7th January) to present two pictures of the half-finished cookie jars shared by her angry customers.
Linly wrote, “My customers’ CNY cookies got eaten before the riders delivered them. And some were left with cookie crumbs only… Sadly, the riders just decided to open my customers’ cookies and eat them. And they didn’t stop at one or two bottles, they ate a few pieces from every bottle then delivered all the remaining halves to my customers.”
Two deliveries were scheduled by the business owner to her customers living in Klang and Kepong respectively. Linly recalled, “Both deliveries had different riders, and they seemed to know each other because they were chatting in front of my house after I handed them my customers’ cookies.”
She stated that she was in disbelief when her customers sent her angry messages after they received the cookies. Linly exclaimed, “They messaged me ‘Is this how you sell your cookies?’, ‘Your service sucks’, ‘So disappointed’, ‘I feel cheated by you’, ‘Why my cookies left crumbs only?’“. She sadly stated how “Their words really hit me damn hard“.
But upon explaining the issue at hand to her two riled-up customers, she felt relieved after both of the customers shared their understanding of her situation, and both were given a newer batch of cookies.
Linly said the delivery company responsible for this has agreed to refund her for the deliveries after the home baker wrote a formal complaint to the company. Apparently, the company was called MrSpeedy and has reached out to Linly to make an agreement for the refund. This was updated on her Facebook post today (Monday, 8th February).
She still, however, felt that the two delivery riders owe her and the company an explanation for their misdeeds. She expressed, “I know times are hard, but I don’t think it’s ethical to do this? I also know that somewhere out there, there are other people who are more “cham” than you (the homeless, the jobless, the lower-income), but they don’t do all these. You have hands, legs, eyes, ear, mouth, a bike, and a job as MrSpeedy rider. I just don’t understand. Anyways you’re just no different than a thief“.
The two couriers in question can be seen in the screenshots below. The home baker also made a reminder for all online sellers to ensure that their sold products are double-sealed, wrapped, or placed in properly closed boxes.
Linly further highlighted “It takes effort and years to build my business’s reputation and two uneducated idiots to ruin it in just one hour.” She disappointingly expressed how her customers are now afraid of ordering her CNY cookies after what transpired.
Here she exclaimed, “I don’t blame MrSpeedy, their internal staff that handled my case are very helpful and friendly. I just hope that they can find the two riders; let them come forward, and owned up for what they did and I would like to know WHY did they do it. I want closure“.
In her recent update, one of the delivery riders is apparently an OKU (Orang Kurang Upaya). An individual from the company has been updating Linly via her Facebook Messenger and was informed of the rider being deaf or mute. However, she still maintains that this doesn’t give him a pass for his misdeeds.
