As airliners are coping with the tough times, AirAsia has launched their own food ordering platform to withstand the hard-hit suffered by the pandemic, while also providing support to local businesses.
Earlier today, AirAsia Group Bhd CEO, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, posted a picture of himself as a food delivery guy to promote the service on his social media.
Based on Fernandes’ Instagram, @tonyfernandes, the CEO is pictured holding a motorcycle helmet while standing beside an AirAsia Food delivery bike. His post stated, “Getting ready to make food deliveries to your house. Check out @airasiafood.”
According to AirAsia’s website, the food delivery platform started back in June to support local business through offering delivery services. It stated, “AirAsia Food has enabled more than 200 merchants to provide their delicious meals and signature dishes via airasia.com’s food ordering platform, bringing customers a wide range of delicacies from all around the Klang Valley prepared by home cooks as well as chain outlets.”
The airline company also offers other services, such as AirAsia Fresh and AirAsia Shop, which include home delivery services for fresh groceries and authentic duty-free products, respectively. All the services are accessible via airasia.com which is presented as an “Asean Super App”.
For now, AirAsia Food currently delivers within Klang Valley only.
