A private school teacher fell to her death at a Johor shopping mall, located on the Skudai highway, on Wednesday (23rd September).
Johor Baru North OCPD Comm, Rupiah Abd Wahid, confirmed that the tragic incident took place at around 12:55pm yesterday. The mall’s head of security notified the authorities about the incident soon after the body was discovered.
The Sun reported that the 26-year-old teacher was working at a private school in Kuala Lumpur, and is said to have suffered from depression for the past four years.
A statement made by ACP Rupiah confirms that the young woman had been previously receiving treatment for depression. Her statement reads: “Background checks found that the woman taught at a private school and had previously received psychiatric treatment for depression.”
Following the initial investigations at the scene, ACP Rupiah added that the case has been classified as a sudden death and foul play has been ruled out. The victim’s body was sent for post mortem and further investigations into the case will be carried out by the authorities.
The deceased allegedly told her mother that she wanted to go to the mall to meet a friend. A video clip of the body lying on a road near the mall’s parking area is currently gaining many views on social media.
