It’s been approximately 2 weeks since Demi Lovato was hospitalised following a scary episode of overdose.
The 25-year-old singer has broken her silence for the first time since that incident. In a lengthy message on Instagram, Lovato continues to be open with her fans about her personal struggles. Besides updating fans on her current situation, she also shared that she is thankful to be alive.
She wrote:
“I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”
Lovato also thanks God for “keeping me alive and well”, and tells fans their “positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time”. The pop star suggested that she may not be returning to the spotlight anytime soon, stating, “I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery“.

Following her statement, numerous fans have flooded her social media with well wishes. Celeb friends from the music industry such as Jennifer Lopez, Sam Smith, Hailey Baldwin, Macklemore, Tove Lo, Noah Cyrus, and Paris Hilton have also offered their support to Lovato.
Just a month before Lovato’s overdose, she released a heartfelt ballad titled, “Sober“. “Momma, I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore. Daddy, please forgive me for the spilled drinks on the floor. The ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before. I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore,” she sings on the track.
So much respect for this strong woman! Keep going forward Lovato, we’re cheering you on 😉
