Kriesha Chu (크리샤 츄, otherwise known as Kriesha Tiu) is in “trouble, trouble, trouble” but she likes it!
As promised, Urban Works Entertainment has dropped the 17-year-old rookie idol’s highly-anticipated debut single, titled “Trouble”, at 12pm KST on Wednesday (24th May).
Produced by Good Life (a producer team made up of Highlight’s Yong Junhyung and producer Kim Tae Joo), the track is described as a powerful pop dance song that has strong rhythms and memorable brass lines.
After watching her colourful music video, we can see why Chu, who is the first Filipino-American singer to debut in South Korea, is so popular among K-Pop fans. Not only is she visually stunning, but she also has some mad dance skills. Besides that, her gorgeous smile can make anyone’s heart melt.
“I’m in trouble, trouble, trouble/ But I, ya, ya like it/ My heart, heart, heart/ You, you, you twisted,” she sings in the chorus.
Chu was a contestant of popular television talent programme “K-Pop Star 6” last year. In the show, she was part of a 3-member girl group named “KWINs” (pronounced as Queens) alongside Kim So Hee and Kim Hye Rim.
The trio finished 2nd while male duo Boyfriend (Park Hyun Jin, Kim Jong Seo) emerged as the competition’s winners.
