After filing for divorce in September, Hollywood’s former golden couple Brangelina has reached a custody agreement regarding their children.
E! News has confirmed that Angelina Jolie will continue to have sole custody of her 6 children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. According to the statement, the children will continue therapeutic visits with Brad Pitt, which was determined by childcare professionals to be in the children’s best interest.
In a statement, a representative for Jolie said:
“We are not in a position to discuss the details. We hope now that it is clear that the events which led to the dissolution filing involved minor children and their well being, there will be understanding of the sensitivity of the family situation. We believe that all sides are committed to healing the family and ask for your consideration during this difficult time.”
However, another source mentioned that the agreement referenced is not a permanent one, but an independent step Pitt and Jolie agreed to while they attempt to work on a more permanent settlement.
Federal authorities are still investigating allegations that involve Pitt in a child abuse incident while aboard a private plane, which involves the actor’s oldest son, Maddox.
Brangelina first fell in love with each other during the filming of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2005 and in 2006, Jolie confirmed that she was pregnant with Pitt’s child. Jolie filed for divorce on 19th September “for the health of the family”.
