Our Paralympians who made Malaysia proud with their wins can now soar even higher thanks to AirAsia.
The airline’s CEO Tony Fernandes announced yesterday (Monday, 12th September) that all Asean Paralympians who scored gold medals at the ongoing games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will be receiving free flights for life from AirAsia.
In his Instagram post, Fernandes shared that the 3 Malaysian Paralympians – Abdul Latif Romly, Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli, and Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi – inspired him and made him “super proud”.
His social media post reads:
“Thought the summer olympics was amazing. But the Paralympics has showed me what determination is all about. Once again this time led by Malaysia Asean is doing something special. Airasia will be giving Free flights for life for all Gold medals winners, 5 years for silver, and 3 years for bronze. Airasia was all about democracy. Thanks guys and girls for giving all of us the spirit to never give up despite all the obstacles in front of us.”
According to New Straits Times, homegrown car company Naza Corporation Holdings will also be rewarding Abdul Latif Romly, Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli, and Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi with a Kia Sportage 2016 car each as well as a residential suite at Trion 888, Equine Park Selangor.
Malaysia currently has 3 gold medals at the Paralympics.
